Limited Budget...No Problems

These days, every dollar we spend feels more precious than before. And when it comes to designing or renovating your interior space, delaying work you would love to do may not always be the best option. In fact, sometimes better results can be achieved on tight budgets. So, how is this?

In the early stages of your interior project, planning is taking place and this is when shape, dimension, finishes and materials should be considered. If you are tackling a commercial space, enclosed rooms will require more services such as air conditioning and electrical works so you may want to reconsider if you will ever really want to close that office door. Materials can influence a design as some don’t bend and others are only available in a certain size. And curves are very on trend and add beautiful ambience to any interior. But they do cost more to create so possibly getting the curvy feel may be better off achieved with furniture and joinery as opposed to solid structures such as walls.

And with budget in mind, consideration of finishes and materials that don’t break the bank are vital. Many gravitate towards stone surfaces as they deliver a high level of luxe. But have you considered laminate options? These days the options are amazing. Edging and zero or reduced pattern repeats ensure a more realistic appearance and once made up into joinery items, they can look even better than the real deal. The same applies to timber surfaces. While most of us would prefer to have real woodgrain finishes, laminate options have developed to such a high standard that with budget in mind, you would be crazy not to consider them. Now, laminate surfaces are not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. But when you consider durability and ease of cleaning, they are definitely worth a look.

And when designing your new space, it’s great to have a wish list of your expectations. However, be open to budget friendly ideas that can help create the look and feel you are after. A good design must work with your budget, otherwise it ends up just being lines on paper that can’t be brought to life. Get in touch if you would like to discuss further.
